B + E Trailer Training

We have been training pupils for the B + E trailer test since 2008. LDC is one of the largest training centre's in the area, with a large off road training site at Pirelli Stadium. We strive to achieve a high level of service for all our pupils in Burton and the surrounding areas.

Training Provided

LDC provides the car and trailer for all training, unless you have your own equipment that you prefer to use, most pupils will come to our site for training, but we can arrange for the instructors to come out to you if you have an off road site big enough for the reversing manoeuvres. Our Trailer training is supplied in 3 hour sessions from 9 - 12 or 1 - 4 Monday to Friday and Saturday morning.

B + E Tests

The Driving Standards Agency B + E Test is required for people that have passed their driving test after the 1st of January 1997 and who want to tow a trailer or horse box etc over 750kg loaded weight, there is an exception to this rule if your vehicle and trailer have a combined loaded weight of 3500 kg.

The tests are taken at the DSA LGV testing stations, we currently use Featherstone, Stoke on Trent, Nottingham and Leicester, but we can use any centre that suits you. The Test Fee is £ 115.00 ( as at 12/3/10 ). The Test will take approximately 1 .5 hours to complete plus travelling time to and from the test centre. The test includes coupling and uncoupling your trailer, safety questions, a reversing manoeuvre, a slow controlled stop and one hour of driving.
